Reading reflections must be done in-person during the lab. Reading reflections will be done remotely this week only!
Please pick-up a print-out with Alfredo, and download and bring a digital copy of the reading to lab if you choose to do the reflection. Remember you only need to complete two reflections over the term (there are four available).
While reading or after reading "User Bias (Chapter 2)" (Thomas, 2020) please highlight sentences in the text that you believe are part of the argument or claims of the author.
Once done highlighting, please:
- State what you believe the author is claiming.
- Describe how the author supports their claim with an example.
- Explain why you are convinced or unconvinced by their claim.
- Explain how your practice may change in future in response to the claim.
Submission
A scan of your responses, as well as a digital PDF of the reading with your highlights can be submitted anytime before the end of lab on June 10 through Canvas.
Grading
This reading reflection is worth 5% (5 points) of your final grade.
- 0.5 points for submitting your reading with highlights as requested above.
- 0.5 points for a clear and concise statement of what the author is claiming.
- 0.5 points for an example of how the author supports their claim.
- 2.5 points for a clear and concise explanation of why you are convince or unconvinced by their claim.
- 1 point for a clear and concise explanation of how your practice may change in the future in response to the claim.
How reflections work
Just a reminder about how reflections work:
- You only need to complete two reflections over the term.
- There are four available.
- You may complete up to three reflections and the lowest grade will be dropped.
